DANBURY, CT – Rutgers-Newark freshman middle blocker Rachel Witt notched four kills and six digs, but Western Connecticut rolled to a 3-0 non-conference women's volleyball victory in Feldman Arena.

Senior libero Val Dauti came up with 13 digs and junior setter Gabi Mangieri totaled 11 assists for the Scarlet Raiders (1-24), but the balanced Colonials (20-5) extended their winning streak to nine. 

Freshman Paxton Thornton led WCSU with 10 kills while senior Dezz Hymes contributed 13 assists. The Colonial defense was bolstered by 18 digs by Kelley Collins. 

Rutgers-Newark travels to Rowan on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a New Jersey Athletic Conference match.
