EWING, NJ – Rutgers-Newark ran into a superlative defensive effort by The College of New Jersey, falling 7-0 in its season-ending New Jersey Athletic Conference women’s soccer match.

Kat Renteria made eight saves, but the Lions piled up a 30-3 advantage in shots to spell the difference. TCNJ (15-2-0, NJAC 7-2-0) took all nine of the match’s corner kicks while using 28 players against the Scarlet Raiders’ 12-woman roster.

Margeaux Hedley took the Rutgers-Newark shots in the second half, with Neves and Hedley putting their efforts on goal.
Jillian Casey and Casey Caruso scored the game’s first four goals, getting two apiece.
Rutgers-Newark (6-11-1, NJAC 1-8-0) loses seniors Huber and defender
Sasha Potter, but the Raiders will return the bulk of the roster for 2010.
