MIDDLETOWN, CT – Senior sprinter
Nnaemeka Ibeh won the 55-meter title and Rutgers-Newark's freshman trio of female shot putters finished 2-3-4 to highlight a strong showing by the Scarlet Raiders in the CTC Indoor Championships in Bacon Field House on the campus of Wesleyan University.

Ibeh lowered his own school record by .13 to finish first a field of 34 runners while freshman
Shariff Stubbs clocked a 6.81 to come in tenth.
Alisha Gray (11.50 meters),
Naima Graham (personal best 11.49) and
Danay Wood (personal best 11.21) finished together in a field of 25 throwers as the Scarlet Raiders piled up 19 points in the shot put.
Freshman
Kevon Brown qualified for the ECAC Indoor Championships, finishing fourth in a field of 23 in a school-record time of 8.00 in the 55-meter hurdles. He also rolled to a 23.20 time in the 200-meter dash to finish fourth in the field of 27 runners – one spot behind Ibeh who clocked a 23.13.
Freshman
Corey Graves lowered his own R-N record in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:08.53 to finish eighth in a field of 21. Senior
Robert Ezewuiro clipped over five seconds off of the R-N record in the 3000-meter run, coming in at 9:36.39.
Freshman
Saymah Nah ran a 7.61 in the 55-meter dash finals, taking eighth in a field of 25 sprinters, while senior
Cierra Farquharson clocked a 1:03.51 to finish eighth in the 400-meter dash.
Rutgers-Newark now gears up to compete in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Monday, February 22, in the NYC Armory. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
