Gray uncorked a school-record toss of 11.92 meters to win the event with classmate Naima Graham taking second place with a best effort of 11.48 as the Scarlet Raiders finished seventh in the field of nine teams in the championship.

Both Gray and Graham earned All-NJAC honors by finishing in the top two in the event.  Gray joined male classmate Kevon Brown as the first individual event winners in the conference indoor meet in the brief three-year history of the program.  Brown won the men's 200-meter dash.

Rookie sprinter Saymah Nah posted two top 10 finishes – clocking the second fastest times in R-N history in the 55-meter and 200-meter dashes. She finished sixth in the 55 meter dash finals after clocking a 7.48 in the preliminaries to qualify for the ECAC Indoor Championships. She cruised to fifth in the 200, posting a time of 26.04 to give her a pair of personal bests on the day.

Senior Cierra Farquharson ran her best time of the year to take fifth in the 400-meter dash in a clocking of 1:01.62.

Nah and Farquharson ran the opening legs on the school-record 4 x 200-meter relay effort, joining Kenitra Washington and Nicole Binns to finish sixth in the race with a clocking of 1:48.21.

Rutgers-Newark will compete in the NYU Fastrack Last Chance Meet in the Armory on Friday.
