NEW YORK – Freshman Saymah Nah narrowly missed qualifying for the ECAC Indoor Champions with a school-record clocking of 8.10 in the 60-meter dash while senior Cierra Farquharson posted her best time of the season in the 400 in the first day of competition at the New Balance Invitational in the New York City Armory.

Nah missed the qualifying standard by just .04 while lowering the R-N mark of 8.25 by Korvette Hinton which was set in the Thomson Invitational on February 2, 2008. Nah also ran a competitive 27.47 in the 200-meter dash against a talented field. She has already qualified for the ECAC in the 200. 

Farquharson ran a 1:02.59 in the 400. 

Rutgers-Newark competes as a split squad tomorrow with some runners returning to the New Balance Invitational and the rest of the squad travelling to Springfield to compete in the Springfield 3-Way meet.
