NORTHAMPTON, MA – Freshman Kevon Brown took fourth place in the 55-meter hurdles with a Rutgers-Newark record of 7.88 seconds in the finals on the opening day of the ECAC Indoor Championships hosted by Smith College.

Brown also clocked a 23.21 to place 19th in a field of 27 in the 200-meter dash.

The 4 x 200-meter relay unit of Brown, freshman Corey Graves and Shariff Stubbs and senior Justin Booker clocked a time of 1:33.85 to finish 15th in a field of 19 teams. 

Tauqeer Qazi turned in a time of 2:02.12 in the 800-meter run to finish 16th in a field of 17.

Senior sprinter Nnaemeka Ibeh, who was among the favorites in the 55-meter dash, did not run because of injury.
