NEWARK, NJ – Sophomore outside hitter
Marcin Midura has been named the EIVA Hay Player of the Week for the third time this season after helping Rutgers-Newark to a 2-0 week.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore averaged 6.21 points and 5.71 kills per set as the Scarlet Raiders (12-11, EIVA Hay 7-0) downed Harvard, 3-0, and Springfield, 3-1. The win over Harvard clinched the EVIA Hay title for Rutgers-Newark while the come-from-behind win at Springfield gave the Raiders a split of their regular-season series.
Midura hit .393 with match-highs of 17 kills and 18.5 points in the win over Harvard on Friday in The Golden Dome. On Saturday, he registered a match-high 23 kills – hitting .500 – with nine digs at Springfield.

Jon Keller and junior setter
Jeff Zornig have also earned the weekly honor in 2010.
