NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark has drawn the No. 2 seed in the ECAC Metro Baseball Championship and will host Rutgers-Camden in Wednesday's opening round. The site and starting time will be announced later today.

The New Jersey Athletic Conference supplies half of the eight-team field with Richard Stockton and defending champion Ramapo College also making the single-elimination playoff.

Rutgers-Newark (22-20) split its regular-season series against Rutgers-Camden (20-18) on Campbell's Field with the Scarlet Raptors taking game one, 7-5, before the Scarlet Raiders rallied for a 6-4 victory in the NJAC doubleheader.

Wednesday's opening round also has No. 8 Ramapo at top-seeded FDU-Florham, No. 6 Stockton at No. 3 Staten Island and No. 5 Old Westbury visiting No. 4 Stevens.

Saturday, the FDU-Florham/Ramapo winner takes on the Stevens/Old Westbury winner while the winner of the battle of the Rutgers campuses faces the winner of the CSI/Stockton game. The championship game will take place on Sunday. The higher surviving seeded team is slated to host each semifinal as well as the championship game.
