JERSEY CITY, NJ – Freshman
Nicole Miklas ran the fastest 5-kilometer time in Rutgers-Newark history to highlight the Scarlet Raiders' effort in the College Track Conference (CTC) Championships in Liberty State Park.
2011 CTC XC WOMEN'S RESULTS
The rookie ran a 21:10.68 time to finish 38th among 138 runners and help the Scarlet Raiders finish 11th in a field of 15 teams.
Miklas shaved nearly a minute and a half off of the 22:36.52 time that she posted at the Philly Metro Meet in September and eclipsed the standing R-N record of 21:35.10 set at the 2007 CTC Championships by Cierra Farquharson.
Freshmen
LaSha Johnson (23:43.57),
Megan Krause (24:46.73) and
Jane Cho (25:52.57) joined junior
Beesan Hasan (28:01.63) all posted career-best times in the 5-K to round out the Raider scoring.
Rutgers-Newark will compete in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on October 29 on the campus of Richard Stockton College.
