COLLEGEVILLE, PA – Freshmen Nicole Miklas and Josephine Polynice posted top 10 finishes to lead Rutgers-Newark's effort in the Collegeville Classic at Ursinus College.

Miklas lowered her R-N record in the 3000-meter run for the third time in as many meets, clocking an 11:21.92 to finish eight in the field of 28 runners.

Polynice was ninth in a field of 45 in the 200-meter dash in 27.96 seconds.

Polynice and classmate LaSha Johnson, who was 16th in the 200 in a time of 28.67, finished 14th and 15th in the 60-meter dash.  Johnson clocked in at 8.35 seconds with Polynice on her heels at 8.39.  In the 400, Polynice was 13th in a field of 43 in 63 seconds flat while Johnson posted a time of 1:06.75.

Rounding out the Raider performance were freshmen Jane Cho (6:34.06 in the mile run), Megan Krause (3:00.92 in the 800-meter run) and Kaitlyn Pomponio (5.72 meters in the shot put).

Rutgers-Newark will compete in the Thomson Invitational at the University of Delaware next Friday and Saturday.
