Brown Earns Second NJAC Track Athlete Of The Week

PITMAN, NJ – Rutgers-Newark junior hurlder Kevon Brown has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after posting ECAC Indoor Championship qualifying times at two separate meets over the weekend.

The 2011 All-American hurdler finished eighth in a talented field of 35 in the college division 60-meter hurdles at the New Balance Invitational in the NYC Armory on Friday, clocking his season's best time of 8.45 seconds.

On Saturday, he won the 60-meter hurdles event at the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College, posted a winning time of 8.50 seconds in the finals.

It was Brown's second NJAC Track Athlete of the Week nod of the season.  He's earned it twice in seven weeks this season after receiving the notice three times during the 2010-11 indoor year.
