Christian Garcia has been selected to the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Basketball second team by the league's 10 head coaches while two other Scarlet Raiders are on the Honorable Mention list. Seniors

Garcia led Scarlet Raiders (19-6, NJAC 13-5) to their best-ever NJAC record and their highest conference tournament seeding – second place – by averaging a team-high 15.9 points. He is tied with NJAC Player of the Year Teon Russell as the top scorer in the league. He registered double digits in scoring 21 times while reaching the 20-point plateau six times. He also averaged 5.1 rebounds while totaling 53 assists, 24 steals and 10 blocked shots. In just 57 career games, Garcia has amassed 766 points (13.4 points per game).
.Abdelmaksoud averaged 8.4 points and 8.0 rebounds a game while notching six double-doubles. He has registered three consecutive double-doubles as the Raiders won their final three NJAC games to ice a first-round bye in the six-team championship tournament. He is hitting 51.4% of his field goals.
Muhammad, a second-team pick in 2011, is averaging a team-high 3.7 assists per game while leading the NJAC in free throw percentage at 84.9%. The guard is averaging 12.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and a team-high 1.7 steals per game.
The league's 10 head coaches select the squad based solely on performance in NJAC games.
The trio will lead Rutgers-Newark against third-seeded Richard Stockton (19-6, NJAC 13-5) in tonight's NJAC Championship Tournament semifinals in The Golden Dome Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
