INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Rutgers-Newark solidified its third-place position in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Atlantic Region by ousting Richard Stockton from the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs on Tuesday night.

The Scarlet Raiders (20-6) are rated behind Ramapo (22-4) and Old Westbury (22-3) in the latest regional ranking released today by the NCAA selection committee.
Rutgers-Newark goes after its first NJAC championship on Friday at top-seeded Ramapo at 7 p.m. in the Bradley Center. The winner claims the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs.
Old Westbury takes on Farmingdale State tonight at 7 in the Skyline Conference semifinals. Stockton (19-7) stays at fourth in the poll.
The weekly polls are the key measuring stick used for determining at-large bids to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
