Youssef Rizk posted victories in singles, but Hunter registered a 7-2 win against the short-handed Scarlet Raiders at the U.S. Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens.
Mandania bounced back from a 7-4 tie-breaker loss in the first set against Hawk junior Damen Ellingson for a 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 10-7 win on the No. 2 singles court while Rizk powered past senior Paul Saint-Donat, 6-1, 6-4, on the No. 3 court.

Raymond Postadan lost a tough three-set decision to freshman David Joseph, 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 11-9.

Herman Leong fell in straights in singles play with the Raiders (0-3) forfeiting the sixth singles match.
Hunter (1-2) got a top-flight doubles victory from Joseph and Ellingson, 8-6, over Postadan and Kim. Mandania and Rizk fell, 8-4, to junior Daniel Rabinovich and senior Binh Luu on the No. 2 court. The Raiders forfeited to the Hawks on the third court.
Rutgers-Newark plays the second of four consecutive away matches on Monday, visiting St. Joseph's LI for a 5 p.m. contest. The Raiders close out next week travelling to Ramapo on Friday and CCNY on Saturday.
