NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark posted its third win in the last four matches by downing short-handed Western Connecticut State, 6-3, on The Golden Dome Courts.

Rajan Mandania took the No. 3 singles decision, 6-1, 6-2, over the Colonials' Romney Tiru after teaming with classmate
Derence Tejero for an 8-1 win on the No. 2 doubles court against Tiru and Sean Hunt.
Senior
William Cheung downed Hunt, 6-1, 6-0, on the No. four singles court as the Scarlet Raiders (3-6) split actual matches played while winning on three forfeit victories by the Colonials (0-7).
WCSU's Brian Bucknam and Chris Turner posted wins on the No. 1 doubles court and the two top-flight singles courts.
After starting the season with five consecutive losses, the Raiders posted a win over Bloomfield College before getting edged by FDU-Florham, 5-4. Back-to-back wins over Brooklyn College and WCSU have followed.
Rutgers-Newark is at Lehman College on Friday at 4 p.m. before hosting York NY on Saturday at noon on The Golden Dome Courts.
