SENIOR (2013-14): OUTDOOR T&F: Raiders’ top 800-meter run competitor who also was a key member of two relay teams… clocked a personal best of 1:58.66 in the 800 at the Shamrock Invitational (3/22/14)… anchored 4 x 400-meter relay unit which qualified for the ECAC Championships with a clocking of 3:23.50 at the NJAC Championships (5/4/14)… ran opening leg on 4 x 800-meter relay team which clocked the second fastest time in R-N history with an 8:17.67 at the Shamrock Invitational (3/21/14). INDOOR T&F: Top 800-meter runner who earned All-NJAC second team honors as a member of the Raiders’ distance medley unit… clocked a season’s best of 2:05.14 in the 800 at the Yale Season Opener (12/7/13)… ran third leg on distance medley foursome that placed second at the NJAC Championships (3/1/14) in 10:38.93… helped distance medley team take second at CTC Championships (2/8/14) in 10:47.31… also was the lead-off runner for the 4 x 800-meter relay unit that posted an 8:41.43 at the CTC Championships (2/8/14).

PROFILE OF THE WEEK (May 15, 2013)

JUNIOR (2012-13): OUTDOOR T&F: Earned All-NJAC Honorable Mention as a member of the Raiders’ 4 x 400-meter relay unit… competed in the 400 and 800 individually while anchoring a pair of R-N relay teams… ran anchor leg of 4 x 400-meter relay team which finished third at the NJAC Championships (5/5/13) in an R-N record time of 3:19.96 and qualified for the ECAC Championships… posted the six fastest time on the squad in the 800-meter run with a season’s best of 2:01.92 at the NJAC Championships (5/5/13)… clocked a season’s best time of 52.85 in the 400-meter dash at the Lions’ Invitational (4/27/13)… also was the anchor runner for the spring medley unit which posted a time of 3:39.44 at the Penn Relays (4/26/13). INDOOR T&F: Top Raider in the 800 run while also competing in the 400 and as a member of two relay units… ran the three fastest time in the 800-meter run on the squad with a season’s best of 2:04.17 at the NJAC Championships (2/22/13)… ran a 55.76 in the 400-meter dash at the Thomson Invitational (1/26/13)… also competed as a member of the 4 x 400-meter and sprint medley relay units.

SOPHOMORE (2011-12): OUTDOOR T&F: Competed primarily in the 400-meter dash… posted a season’s best time of 52.92 at the Tuppany Twilight Last Chance Meet (5/14/12)… posted one 200-meter dash time of 25.20 at the NJ Invitational (4/14/12)… ran third leg on Raiders’ 4 x 800-meter relay unit which notched a time of 9:24.26 at the CTC Championships (4/22/12).

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in track at Kearny HS as a senior in 2009, helping the Kardinals to a Hudson County men’s championship… ran on relay units and earned third-team all-county laurels in the javelin and triple jump… played three seasons of varsity basketball and two years of baseball.

PERSONAL: Walked on to Raider squad as an academic junior… also a member of the R-N cross country team... transferred to R-N following a year at William Paterson where he did not compete in intercollegiate athletics… majoring in psychology… son of Lori and Al Happel.
