The Golden Dome Athletic Center houses the 720-square-foot Rutgers-Newark Athletic Training Room (ATR). Featuring newly constructed cabinetry, the ATR houses all of the same necessities found in an NCAA Division I institution. With six treatment tables, the ATR is capable of treating and rehabilitating a large group of student-athletes at the same time.
When practices are hard and games are tough, student-athletes can relax in one of three of our whirlpools. At Rutgers-Newark, the Athletic Training Staff can choose between four electrical stimulation machines, two ultrasound machines, and a compression unit to administer treatment to various soft tissue injuries.
Prior to practice or a strenuous workout, student-athletes can also find heat packs in two of our hydrocollators or, after activity, stop by to make an ice bag from our ice machine. With plenty of room for rehabilitation, the Rutgers-Newark Athletic Training Room can complement all of your athletic needs!
