Rutgers-Newark Athletics

Samantha Lapszynski joined the Rutgers–Newark women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in August 2026, bringing extensive coaching experience along with Division I and international playing experience.

Lapszynski most recently served as an assistant coach at Stevens Institute of Technology, where she joined the staff in 2019. Prior to Stevens, she served as a graduate assistant on the staff at FDU-Florham.

Lapszynski brings Division I and international playing experience to the Scarlet Raiders. As an undergraduate at Niagara University, she averaged nearly 12 points per game during her senior season and earned Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honors. She finished her career with 488 points across 97 games and remains among the program's all-time leaders with 74 career blocks. Her 266 rebounds during the 2015-16 season rank third in program history.

Following her collegiate career, Lapszynski played professionally in Europe for three years, spending two seasons in Poland and one in Germany.

A two-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection, Lapszynski graduated summa cum laude from Niagara in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education.She earned her Master of Arts degree from FDU-Florham's Peter Sammartino School of Education in May 2021.
